Frame - ductile and/or malleable iron; bright plated finish on frames #1410 through #1434.
Anvil - machined-ground
Screw - cold-drewn steel wtih specila, smoothly "rolled" threads (U.S.S. on #1410 - #1434; Acme on #1440 - #1480); steel sliding-pin handle.
Swivel - Bright plated steel; securely fastened to screw; revolves freely.
