Style No. 3900 is a sliding-head design: the sliding head is threaded to accomodate the screw. All adjustments are made in the moveable sliding head, making this style the fast-acting. Multiple-Disc-Clutch holds securely at any point along the bar.
Reach - 3-1/2" from edge of bar to center-line of screw.
Bar - 1" x 5/16" plated, round-edge, hight-carbon steel; 100,000 pounds psi. tensile strength.
Castings - malleable and/or ductile iron; powder coated orange finish.
Screw - 1/2" diameter cold-drawn steel with special, smoothly cut ACME threads;
Handle - varnished hardwood with plated steel ferrule.
Clutch discs - hardened, plated steel; three clutch discs and one clutch spring constitute the Multipe-Disc-Clutch.
Swivel - 1-1/4" diameter (#1045); exclusive Jorgensen design with steel internal tooth washer for positive "stay-on" power.
